HERE I GO

I haven't been here for a few days - too busy beading up a storm and enjoying grandkids. I have my first craft show this weekend, so if you're in the area stop in and say hello. If you don't happen to be just a stone's throw - then wish me luck. I'm just printing out my sales list and can't believe that in just a short time I've put together 71 necklace, bracelet and earring sets, along with a host of other earrings, bracelets, bookmarks, zipper pulls, jean bling, etc.

I know that in this economy purchasing nice jewelry is not on the top of a priority list for most people, so even if I only sell a couple of items I'll be happy with the experience.

Where: Karcher Mall, Nampa, ID

When: Friday, March 27th, 10:00 am to 9:00 pm
Saturday, March 28th, 10:00 am to 9:00 pm
Sunday, March 29th, Noon to 6:00 pm

It's going to be a long weekend!

Here's my latest creation .... I call it "Earth - Prosperity."

FRIDAY NIGHTS

Whoa .... remember Friday nights??? Couldn't wait for school to get out so you could meet up with your buds - whole weekend free. Remember: Keggers? Woodsies? Marty's parties? Dragging the Boulevard? Hangovers?

Whoa .... I'm spending the night at Sandy's house and she's spending the night with me!

Whoa .... Action at the local circle race track, shopping, talking about boys, hanging effigies on the water poles that stuck out over the roadway? Sneaking in the drive-in in the trunk of the car?

Whoa .... I'm spending the night at Linda's house and she's spending the night with me!

Whoa .... Running in the pouring rain, playing football in the median of Nevada Avenue, snowball fights??? Football games?

NOW .... Friday evening with The Dog Whisperer, glass of wine, 9:30 bedtime .... Whoa! What happened?

Happy Trails ....

Ides of March

Gosh, here it is March already. Where does the time go? Only 28 days and we leave on our sojourn across the United States. I can hardly wait, but there is still much to do. Dick has been working on the outside of the motorhome, waxing and installing a new tire sensor system, and I've been working on the inside, organizing cabinets and discovering storage spaces I didn't know we had. It's a little bit different knowing that you're going to be gone more than just a couple of weeks, and Dick keeps reminding me that we'll never be far from a store if we forget something!

What clothes to take will be the biggie for me. Anyone who knows me knows that I have two walk-in closets full of stuff. True, some of it doesn't fit me any more :( but it keeps hanging around thinking that I just might lose some weight - ha! I did filter out some of my good work clothes, passing them on to friends and family. And I've always said that I will be buried in my jeans, so what's so hard about getting rid of all the other stuff!!

If you're interested, I also have a travel blog set up for while we're on the road. Please email me and I'll send you a link to it.

I've been busy making jewelry and preparing for the upcoming craft show at the end of March. It's so hard to know what people are going to like and what kind of a price to put on items. I want to make them affordable for everyone but also make a little money to cover my expenses.

I really like to work with the turquoise - it is one of my favorite colors. It's so much fun to lay out a design and then change it three or four times before it becomes a creation. I think it might also be hard to part with some of these pieces of jewelry - but the good thing is - I can always make one just like it :)

On another note - I am just so pissed off. We had to close a credit card account because someone was using it to charge items on the internet. I usually go on line and check our statements once or twice a month and happened to notice two identical charges for $897 to a company I had never heard of. After checking the internet, I found that the charges were to one of those ink toner supply companies. I called the card company - which pissed me off again, having to go through all the "push this button for that" and speaking to three non-English speaking people, finally to find out that the card had also been used for other purchases that were denied.

Both of us still have the original card in our possession (although shredded now) and the only thing that we can figure out is that Dick used it to purchase a couple of items on the internet and someone picked the number up off of one of those transactions. Make sure that all of your connections are secure and you're on a secured server when you make purchases on line.

Thought for the day: In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm and three or more is a congress.-- John Adams
